Asinsin guides Pearl City’s high powered offensive arsenal over Kalaheo 31-0 (9/1/2017)

Pearl City QB Isaiah Asinsin led the Chargers to a 31-0 shutout win over the visiting Kalaheo Mustangs in OIA Division 2 varsity football played on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Pearl City High School.

Asinsin completed 5/11 for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 INT. Asinsin connected with Micah Quillopo-Jamile on a 76 yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and hit Zion Tupuola-Fetui on a 4 yard strike early in the third quarter.

Quillopo-Jamile led all receivers with 87 yards on 2 catches with 1 touchdown.

The Chargers rushed for 197 yards on the ground led by Andre Carter who went over the century mark picking up 112 yards on 15 carries. Makoa Cooper rushed for 40 yards on 6 carries with 1 touchdown.

Pearl City place kicker Zameer Kahn opened scoring putting the Chargers on the scoreboard on a 35 yard field goal at 9:01 in the first quarter.

Zion Tupuola-Fetui was force for the Chargers against the Mustangs scoring a couple touchdowns on a 4 yard reception and on a blocked punt that he returned for a touchdown. Tupuola-Fetui spent most of his time on defense in the Mustangs backfield, and also platooned with Kahn as the Chargers punter.

Burkhardt Aitavale was dialed in on the Mustangs backfield recording 2 sacks for the Chargers defense.

Kalaheo QB Justus Neufeldt completed 7/23 for 96 yards and 2 INT’s.

Brandon Kekoa Alana led the Mustangs receiving core with 3 receptions for 67 yards.

Micah Jahnke led the Mustangs on the ground rushing for for 30 yards on 14 carries.

The Chargers are 4-0 in OIA D2 league play. Te Mustangs remain winless at 0-3. The Chargers have a bye week coming up and will face Kaimiki in a much anticipated showdown on Saturday, September 16 at Farrington High School. Kaimuki is currently 3-0 in league standings.
