Back-to-Back RBI singles drive Pearl City past Kapolei 2-1 (4/22/2017)

Back to Back RBI singles lifted the Pearl City Lady Chargers over the Kapolei Lady Hurricanes 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I varsity softball championship playoffs played on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Sand Island Softball Park.

Hailey-Alexis Yamaguchi drove in Kylie Tasaki to tie the game at 1-1 and Tyanna Kaaialii followed with a game winning RBI single that scored Darian Obara to put the Lady Chargers up 2-1.

Tyanna Kaaialii also earned the win for the Lady Chargers while Sadie Kapaku-You took the loss for the Lady Hurricanes.

W1 Pearl City will take on defending state champion and W3 seed Campbell in the OIA championship tournament semifinals on Monday, April 24, 2017 at McKinley High School.

Pearl City, Mililani, Campbell, and Roosevelt have all earned berths in the 12-team Division I HHSAA State Softball Championship Tournament scheduled for May 3-6 at the University of Hawaii’s Wahine Softball Stadium
