Charger QB Makana Canyon threw for 137 yards, completing 12/21 with one touchdown and no INT’s. Christian Tielu completed 3/4 for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Super Charger receiver Micah Quillopo-Jamile caught 6 passes to lead all pass catchers with 107 yards and one touchdown. Quillopo-Jamile hauled in a 64 yard touchdown pass from PC QB Christian Tielu early in the fourth quarter that increased the Charger lead over PAC-5 to 19-7.
PAC-5 QB Rocket Uechi completed 23/41 for 266 yards and one touchdown to lead all signal callers through the air.
Angelo Coluccio caught 5 passes for 78 yards for PAC-5.
The Chargers got on the scoreboard to open a 6-0 lead on a 27 yard touchdown pass from QB Makana Canyon to Thomas King with 6:24 on the clock in first quarter. Kyle Hyun tacked on the PAT to put the Chargers up 7-0. The Chargers first score of the ball game came after a blocked field goal by Nuusegi Afoa just outside the Chargers 20 yard line that was returned to PAC-5’s 27 yard line. The Chargers scored their second touchdown of the first half on a 15 yard touchdown pass from Christian Tielu to RJ Kami with at 3:51 of the second quarter. The Chargers scored their final touchdown of the ball game on Quillopo-Jamile’s 64 yard touchdown reception from Tielu at 10:56 of the fourth quarter.
PAC-5 got on the scoreboard at 11:54 of the fourth quarter on a 2 yard rushing touchdown by QB Rocket Uechi.and a 6 yard touchdown pass from Uechi to Ian Canute as time expired to end the game.
The Chargers (5-0, 5-2 overall) will celebrate Homecoming and Senior Night on Friday, October 5 against the visiting Roosevelt Rough Riders (5-1, 7-1 overall) in a OIA D2 showdown. The Chargers will end the regular season against the Kaimuki Bulldogs (5-0, 5-2 overall) on Saturday, October 13 at Farrington High School.
