Pearl City defeated Medicine Hat of Alberta, Canada 6-5 yesterday afternoon on opening day of the Preseason High School Baseball Tournament at Pearl City High School.

Pearl City’s Alika Almaraz picked up the win for the Chargers.

Ranson Aquino powered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third inning for the Chargers.

The tournament will be played Thursday-Saturday at Pearl City High School and Les Murakami Stadium. The Chargers take on St. Louis in tonight’s nightcap at 8:30pm at Les Murakami Stadium.
