Super Cooper’s 4 TD’s leads Pearl City over Waialua 64-0 (8/25/2017)

Pearl City’s Makoa Cooper picked up where he left off in last weeks 42-0 shut out of Roosevelt with four more visits to the end zone in the Chargers 64-0 win against the visiting Waialua Bulldogs last night at Edwin Bino Neves Stadium.

Cooper scored on four rushing touchdowns with the first coming off a 68 yard bolt at 11:33 of the first quarter. Cooper scored all of his touchdowns in the first half that helped propel the Chargers to a 51-0 halftime lead. The Chargers put up 36 points in the first quarter.

The potent Chargers offense led by QB Isaiah Asinsin rolled up 397 yards of net offense with 323 yards picked on the ground.

The Chargers defense came through again holding the Bulldogs to -15 yards of net offense.

Cooper led all rushers with 140 yards on 7 carries and 4 touchdowns. Treven Alvarado picked up 73 yards on 3 carries with a touchdown. Alvarado’s TD came on a 72 yard run late in the fourth quarter. Andre Carter rushed for 65 yards on 5 carries.

Pearl City QB Isaiah Asinsin completed 7/11 for 74 yards and 2 TD’s. Chase Cudimat caught 2 passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. Chad Mock caught 3 passes for 22 yards and a touchdown.

On defense, the Chargers continue to excel in forcing turnovers. Kasey Kikuyama scored on a 40 yard pick 6 in the second quarter. Shayden McMoore scored on a third quarter 56 yard pick 6. The Chargers also recorded a safety late in the second quarter.

The Chargers have outscored there first two opponents of the regular season 106-0. They will host Kalaheo on Friday, September 1.
