Construction began on Saturday, April 28, 2012 on a new pergola at the Urban Garden Center in Pearl City. The structure will occupy space as visitors enter the UGC Rose Garden. When completed, it will be a part of the Urban Garden Center's "Peace Garden" that will offer UGC visitors an opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful roses grown and maintained by volunteers from the Honolulu Rose Society.
Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge, Aiea High School Interact Program, UGC Master Gardeners, University of Hawaii, and community groups helped out on Saturday with the project.
