Pearl City Chargers open regular season with 42-7 win over Kalaheo Mustangs (10.15.2021)

The Pearl City Chargers blew out the visiting Kalaheo Mustangs 42-7 last night to open the long awaited 2021 Oahu Interscholastic Association Division 2 Football regular season.

The Chargers scored all of their 42 points with 6 touchdowns and 6 PAT’s in the first half. Kalaheo scored the only points of second half in the third quarter to get on the scoreboard at 42-7.

Pearl City scored all their touchdowns through the air behind QB Trey Dacoscos who threw for 301 yards competing 15 of 24 with 6 touchdowns.

Joshua Gleason caught 5 passes for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Chargers in receiving. Bradley Kanson caught 6 passes for 84 yards and 3 touchdowns and Micah Higa hauled in 2 passes for 40 yards and 1 touchdown for the Chargers.

Caleb Kaai led the Chargers on the ground rushing for 66 yards on 10 carries.

Kalaheo Mustang QB Riis Weber through for 79 yards completing 4 of 19 with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
Isaiah Akiu led Mustang receivers with 72 yards on 3 receptions and 1 touchdown.

The Chargers return to action on the road at Radford to take on the Rams on Saturday, October 23 with kick off scheduled for 6:30pm. Spectators will be allowed with a maximum attendance of 1000 set by the DOE.
