Pearl City puts together 5-run rally to down Mililani 7-6 (3/20/2018)

The Pearl City Chargers put together a dramatic, bottom of the sixth inning, five-run rally to beat the visiting Mililani Lady Trojans 7-6 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division I softball on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

Pearl City’s Tiari Hernandez smashed a 2-RBI home run over the left field fence to spark the Lady Chargers five-run rally that put the Lady Chargers up 7-5 after 6 complete innings of play. Hernandez batted 2-4, with a homerun, 2 RBI, and a run scored. The Lady Chargers also capitalized at the plate from outstanding performances in the ball game from Noel Saunders 2-4, 2 RBI and Alexas Presto-Ahsing 2-3, double, run scored.

Mililani jumped out in front of Pearl City 4-0 in the top of the third inning highlighted by a 3-run home run blast by Katie Carlos. Carlos batted 1-4 with a home run, 3 RBI, and a run scored.

Maiyah Faleafine-Lesu picked up the win for the Lady Chargers in relief of starter Jozayah Iriarte. Faleafine-Lesu pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with no strikeouts and no walks. Iriarte pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs on four hits with no strikeouts and 2 walks.

Cheyenne Ardona took the loss for the Lady Trojans pitching 5 1/3 innings allowing 7 runs on 8 hits with 3 strikeouts and 4 walks. Serenity Jackson pitched 1/3 innings in relief of Ardona allowing no runs on 1 hit with no strikeouts and no walks.

Mililani will host Kapolei on Saturday, March 24 with first pitch scheduled for 10:00am

Pearl City will host Leilehua on Saturday, March 31 with first pitch scheduled for 10:00am.
