Waipahu over Pearl City 37-6 in OIA D2 Football (9/22/2017)

Pearl City (5-1) was overwhelmed on Friday, September 22, 2017 by Waipahu (5-0) who took over sole possession of first place in the OIA D2 football standings after running over the Chargers 37-6 at the newly renovated Waipahu High School stadium.

Alfred Failauga led the Marauders ground game pounding out 243 yards and 3 touchdowns while QB Braden Amorozo threw for 246 yards and 2 touchdowns with one INT.

The Marauders scored 15 points in the third quarter and 22 points in fourth quarter to blow out the Chargers.

The Chargers scored their only touchdown of the ball game on a 17 touchdown pass from Isaiah Asinsin to Micah Quillopo-Jamile at 6:48 of the third quarter.

Asinsin completed 9/19 for 88 yards and a touchdown.

The Chargers will end the regular season with a Homecoming game against the McKinley Tigers (1-4) next week Friday, September 29 at Edwin Bino Neves Stadium.

The Marauders will take on Kaimuki (4-1) at Farrington High School’s Skippa Diaz Stadium on Saturday, September 30.
